Ethan & Martin family medical expenses

Hi, I am Natalie Tanner a close friend of the Martin family. Though this amazing family would never ask, they are in need of our help, support, love and prayers.

As some of you may know, their son Ethan, was diagnosed with epilepsy at the age of three. Ethan is a beautiful child inside and out with the biggest heart. ❤️ He has a love for dinosaurs, Star Wars and giving hugs. Ethan has never met a stranger!

Unfortunately, Ethan has endured countless stays in the hospital for tests and treatments that have lasted days even to weeks. In addition to many hospital stays, he has endured two different brain surgeries that required months of recovery in which neither of them were successful at controlling his daily seizure activity. Currently, Ethan is on five different anti-seizure medications and has to participate in At Home and Hospital schooling due to the severity and frequency of his seizures.

After seven long years of treatment at Children’s National Hospital in DC the family has been left with more questions than answers, mountains of medical debt and the sad reality that Ethan’s epilepsy has only gotten worse. In an effort to find answers and hopefully a resolution to Ethan seizures they are seeking testing, treatments, and a potential third brain surgery at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). This next phase of Ethan’s journey will add to the burden of medical cost as well as create additional stress to the family as it will require both parents to miss time at work to support their child as this hospital is a distance from their home.

We are choosing to support and love the Martins by starting a GoFundMe to help reduce their medical debt and travel expenses over the next weeks to months.
