Ethan&Erika Stay Afloat(after life threatening car accident)

Hey everyone,

My name is Ashley. I first met Erika in 2008 when we attended Southeastern Louisiana University together. Erika graduated college and is currently a middle school teacher in southern Louisiana. Erika and Ethan live there with their 2 dogs and 3 cats.

Their love story actually starts back in 8th grade! They were very close as chiodren and remained friends through the course of their young adult lives. About 8 years ago they reconnected, found a passionate love, friendship, and partnership in each other. They quickly fell in love and never looked back.

Ethan has been working full time as a paralegal by day for a reputable construction company and attending law school by night at Southern University. He is due to graduate next month, in May, and has been scheduled to take the bar in June. Erika has told me on many occasions that he is the hardest working, most brilliant man she knows.

On April 11th, due to the mistake of another driver, Ethan was involved in a life threatening car accident. He was placed in the ICU almost immediately where it took multiple days for his body to be strong enough for the most basic surgery of closing his open abdominal wound. He has many more surgeries to come, including his broken femur and pelvis, and will be in the ICU for at least another month. He is currently heavily sedated and can not make his own medical decisions at this time or pay any of the monthly bills that keep his family afloat. When Ethan pulls through the scariest part of these injuries, he will have many months of rehabilitation and many medical bills. Likely more than any of the car insurance companies will pay for.
