Today we come to ask for help as we go through the most difficult and heartbreaking loss our family has had to endure. After 7 years of continuous fight, perseverance, and resiliency, our beautiful, strong baby boy, Ethan Alexander, passed away on April 3rd, 2023. During this agonizing time, we are asking for help in the effort to ease the unfathomable overwhelm and to allow the time and space to grieve without the increased stress of expenses from his end-of-life planning, coordination, medical costs and funeral expenses. Please read below to learn more about Ethan, the beautiful life he lived, and the gifts he blessed us with.

Seven years was not enough, but it was 7 years more than anyone thought we would have. While our hearts are shattered into a million pieces, we will be forever grateful for the time Ethan spent in our lives. He taught us more in 7 years than most people learn in a lifetime.

He taught us to appreciate the small things. He taught us to be strong and to use our voices. He taught us to be brave and that superheroes are real and come in all shapes and sizes. He taught us what it truly means to be resilient and never give up. He taught us that each day is a gift and to live it to the fullest. He taught us the meaning of true compassion, empathy, kindness, and loving without judgment.

What he lacked in muscle he made up for with intelligence, heart, and personality. He never gave up and would try and try until he accomplished the impossible time and time again. You could underestimate him, but he would prove you wrong every single time. His ferocious tenacity, endless wisdom, and heart of a warrior made a huge impact on so many.

He may have lived a short life, but it was filled with fun and laughter and adventure, but most importantly he lived a life full of so much love.

Ethan loved going on vacations, watching movies (especially Marvel movies, Minions, Trolls, Disney’s Descendants and Toy Story, or anything with slapstick humor), watching tv (American Idol - he would sing along, Pokémon, Ninja Turtles, Sesame Street, and The Mandalorian), and listening to music. He loved swinging at the park and begging his big brother, Leo, to push him higher, and playing Nerf battles. He loved Daddy's cuddles and kisses. He loved dancing and reading books with Mommy. He loved family dinners with Auntie Bri, Grandpa, and Valerie. He loved his nurses Toni and Josefina. He absolutely loved going to Disney and his favorite rides were Dumbo and the Safari. He loved going on boats, especially the “big boat” (Disney cruise). He loved eating ice cream, lollipops, and cake icing. He loved playing video games and Spider-man Monopoly. He loved going swimming and laying on the hammock. He loved bowling and bubbles. And he mostly loved just spending time with his family and his dog, Jojo.

Ethan’s life began as a miracle, and this week he got to give the greatest miracle of all, the gift of life to three individuals through organ donation, proving once again that superheroes are real.

We are so proud of him and grateful for the moment to allow his legacy to live on. So, fly high our little superhero. We love you to infinity and beyond.
