Eternal Pigeon is a mockumentary puppet comedy about Paddy, an immortal ex-messenger pigeon stumbling through odd jobs and existential crises, trying to reinvent himself in a world that’s moved on and forgotten pigeons were ever important.

Paddy's story asks: if you’ve outlived your purpose—or never had one—what comes next? It aims to inspire understanding and connection for anyone feeling invisible or alienated in our fast-moving world.

Did you know pigeons were once beloved domesticated animals?

They carried humanity’s messages, bridged impossible distances, and even became symbols of peace. But, as humans often do, we loved them until we didn’t. Now, they’re cast aside, dismissed as “rats with wings,” forgotten by the very species that once relied on them.

Paddy is one of those forsaken heroes.

But Paddy isn’t just any pigeon— outside being a puppet, he’s an Eternal Pigeon. He’s witnessed centuries of human triumph and absurdity, from carrying royal secrets for dukes to helping a plane land on the Hudson River (don’t ask). Yet, eternity is far from a feast of breadcrumbs. After being abandoned by his last master and shooed away by the master’s uninterested ex-girlfriend, Paddy finds himself adrift in a world where he no longer matters.

What follows is a series of misadventures only Paddy could endure!

From moonlighting as a rideshare driver (disastrous) to leading a gang of park pigeons in heroic bread clean-ups (messy), Paddy’s journey spirals into an existential crisis. A steroid-fueled meltdown lands him in Narcotics Anonymous, where he begins to confront his past and ponder the ultimate question: What makes me, me, again?

Eternal Pigeon is a heartfelt and darkly comedic exploration of identity, purpose, and the ridiculousness of modern life. Paddy’s story reminds us that even in a world that’s moved on, there’s always a way to find meaning—even if it’s messy and feathered.

Our Approach

The film oscillates between being alongside Paddy as he awkwardly navigates his chaotic world and stepping back to observe his antics through the lens of a bewildered documentary crew. This blend immerses the audience in Paddy’s journey while also giving moments of reflection and humor through the observational style.
