The Hartt School Euphonium-Tuba Consortium (ETC) has been invited to the 2014 International Tuba Euphonium Conference in Bloomington, IN. The ensemble is performing in a joint recital with Marshall University, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and the Eastman School of Music. All groups are in a consortium that commissioned a new work by Barbara York entitled, "Dark Chocolate Suite". ETC is excited to be a part of the world premiere. In addition to the world premiere/joint recital, members of ETC will have the privilege of attending many recitals, masterclasses, seminars held by top professionals in the tuba-euphonium community. Members will have the opportunity to network with other peers from all over the world, as well as professionals.
All things come with a "however" - in this case, despite all of the great opportunities, it comes with a price tag. Below is an itemized list of expenses:
Travel (two vehicles) - $350 per vehicle, $700 total
Hotel (May 19-24, two rooms) - $100 a night X 6 nights = $600
Registration for Conference - $195 per student = $780 (4 stu.)
Commission Fee - $500
This all comes to about $2,600. Luckily, we have already offset some of the costs through on-campus funding. All donations receive will go directly to the trip costs, and any extra money we receive will go toward additional expenses such as food.
We appreciate the exposure, and any donation you are able to give. Please share this with everyone you know!
