Help save an innocent little girl.

What would you do if you could help save the life of a child?

Almost two years ago, I met a precious five year old little girl, who is now my son’s best friend. At the time, she had been removed by the state from her mother—a gang member, who was living in an abandoned home with no electricity or running water—due to neglect, malnourishment, physical and mental abuse, and PTSD after witnessing a crime committed by her mother and her mother’s boyfriend.

She was very small for her age, her teeth almost rotted due to poor hygiene and improper nutrition. She was very nervous and wary of any social interaction, and had so far received very little education. No one had even bothered to teach her the ABCs.

Her foster parents lovingly took on the challenge of this broken, precious little girl. They gave her much needed medical care, therapy and dental care to address all of her physical issues.

Then they started working to heal her mind and soul. For the first time in her life, she had a proper home, nurturing parents, friends and a sense of worth. Finally, she had the parents she deserved, who truly loved and cared for her. As she says, “I love my (foster) moms so much because they treat me like a child."

In the two years that she has been in their direct care and guidance, she has grown substantially, glowing with great health, she has completely caught up with her education and has become an affectionate, loving, outgoing and happy child.

But now, the State of Florida wants to send her back to her biological mother, back into the exact same situation, despite the mother failing to meet the compliance guidelines set up by the state. She has no job, no permanent residence and has made few attempts to see or talk to her child in the past two years. The State of Florida is completely disregarding the medical, psychiatric and agency reports that prove this child would be greatly at risk back with her mother.
Her foster parents are fighting this. They have had enough of no one putting the best interest of this child first and have decided to fight for her safety, well-being, and her life.

This of course has put a great toll on them financially, as they have had to get lawyers and medical professionals to test and prove the level of neglect and abuse that this child endured and if she is returned, they fear will endure once again.

All I ask, as a loving parent and out of basic humanity, is for your help at giving this child a chance at a normal happy life.

Whatever you can give, however you can help, I beg you to help me give this little girl a chance. She deserves a chance at life, the same chance that we all want our children to have.

I personally have come to love her as much as my son does and I will fight with all I have to give her the life she deserves.
