My father-in-law, Jeff was driving dump truck on County Road 57 when an ambulance transporting a young man entered the intersection. There were no sirens or lights to warn him. The ambulance didn’t stop. At that moment, many lives were forever changed. Our dad was air lifted to the hospital where he has been since Tuesday.
If you are from Itasca County, you know Jeff. He loves his community and serves it with pride. He has been a volunteer firefighter for twenty-four years and served as Nashwauk Township Supervisor for nineteen years. Jeff and my mother-in-law Sue have been married for over fourty years. They are the love that most people wish for. Except when Sue yells at Jeff to “get out of her kitchen.” In all seriousness, if the hospital wouldn’t kick her out at night, she wouldn’t leave.
Jeff is the most kind, genuine, loving person there is. He would do anything to help anyone and is devastated by this tragedy. I am setting up this GoFundMe to help with expenses and medical costs associated with accident.
Please continue to keep the other families and this small community in your thoughts and prayers as everyone tries to find peace and healing.
