Something pretty terrible has happened with the partnership I put together to feed families and orphans, and right before Christmas. The video is an important 1-minute clip explaining the project and why it supports so many people.



I started the Timbali Project as a means to support the bomake (women) of Swaziland. I sold my house and everything I owned to start this project. As I am 28 and have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, this was the biggest change I could make before filing for disability.  I listed all of the products on Amazon, and there was a promotion code that very few people had in order to get a free Timbali bag so we could begin to collect product reviews and start generating regular sales for the bomake to sell their products. The dream has been to sell enough bags to expand the program and support more women, but then this happened.

The private promotion code appeared publicly on Amazon due to a system glitch. I received a flood of emails from Amazon saying all the product had sold with the promotion code, FOR FREE. I received a bill from Amazon for the use of the code and every single bag was cleared out of inventory, right before Christmas. The loss is around ten thousand dollars, all impacting the women and orphans in Swazi.

I contacted Amazon immediately to cancel the orders going out and resolve the issue, but even after the said they had opened a ticket, the bags continued to ship and sell. I called again 24 hours later when the problem was getting close to 300 orders, but in the end was forced to deactivate the listing because nothing was being done.

This project is designed to support the bomake of Swaziland and the lost money impacts well over a hundred families. Whoever got the code must not have thought of that and the people who ordered 20 or more 'free' bags likely did not, either.

I am open to doing anything at all that can be done to help make up the gap and get awareness out. Thank you for your time and my hope is that the community can somehow assist in this.
