La Universidad Politécnica y su oficina de Desarrollo Institucional y Comunicaciones, han desarrollado esta iniciativa con el fin de apoyar la educación de nuestros estudiantes afectados por el Huracán María.
La Universidad Politécnica va a igualar dólar por dólar, todos los donativos de esta campaña. Los fondos recaudados serán usados directamente para cubrir los gastos de Matrícula para evitar que los estudios de nuestros estudiantes se vean afectados.

100% de los fondos serán destinados a los estudiantes de la Universidad Politécnica de Puerto Rico, directamente afectados por el Huracán María.
El paso del Huracán María fue devastador para Puerto Rico con vientos de más de 160 millas por hora, dejando a toda la Isla sin servicio de agua, electricidad, transporte de gasolina a sus estaciones y sin comunicación por línea básica de teléfono y en la de los celulares. El acceso al internet es muy limitado y no hay manera fácil de encontrar WIFI. Los estudiantes, al igual que el resto de Puerto Rico, se encuentran lidiando con los estragos de esta catástrofe de la naturaleza y a su vez, resolviendo sus propios problemas familiares, por lo que muchos de ellos han perdido documentos oficiales, personales y hasta sus hogares.
¿Cómo se van a distribuir los fondos recaudados?
La Universidad Politécnica va a igualar dólar por dólar, todos los donativos de esta campaña. Los fondos recaudados serán directamente para cubrir gastos de Matrícula para evitar que sus estudios se vean afectados. No podemos permitir una educación que se vea interrumpida de manera indefinida. Éstos fondos serán administrados por la Oficina de Asistencia Económica. La Universidad Politécnica de Puerto Rico es una corporación sin fines de lucro 501c3.
Vamos a echar pa’lante, nuestros estudiantes se van a graduar y serán los futuros profesionales de Puerto Rico.

Hurricane Maria has produced devastating winds of more than 160mph in our beautiful homeland of Puerto Rico, leaving the entire Island without water service, power service, distribution of gas and no communication through basic telephone lines and personal cell phones. The Internet has very limit access and there’s no easy way to find WIFI in any place. Students as well, are stuggling with all the Island catastrophic damage plus with their own family problems, including the loss of official documentation or their houses.
How the funds raised will be distributed?
The Polytechnic University is going to match dollar to dollar, all the donations from this campaign. The funds collected will be directly used to cover Tuition fees to prevent the education from being affected. We cannot let having an undefined interruption in their education. The funds will be administered by the Office of Economic Assistance. The Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico is a not-for-profit corporation 501c3.
We will rebuild, PUPR students will graduate and will become Puerto Rican future professionals.
