Hi, this is Estrella. We adopted her almost 2 years ago from a rescue here in Las Vegas. We were advised at the time that she had recently had surgery for bladder stones, but assured us that if they were to come back, they would cover the surgery again. Unfortunately, they did come back and although we were giving her a prescription diet, she needed a second surgery, which the rescue did cover. However, she was not recovering like she should, and after about 5 weeks and multiple trips to my vet, it was declared that she needed another surgery as it seemed as though her intestines were twisted. After her surgery, my vet called me and said that her intestines were not twisted... the previous surgery center (that the rescue took her to) left 2 gauze in her stomach and it caused a major infection. Once they removed it, she still was having a hard time recovering and we thought we would have to put her down as her organs were shutting down. Miraculously, she has finally turned it around and has come home after 6 days in the hospital, however, she is not quite out of the woods yet and has to stay on antibiotics for an extended amount of time in the hopes of it killing all the bacteria this infection has caused. As you could imagine, the bills are a lot and the rescue has said they are unable to help. I am just trying to raise money to help with some of the vet bills, because even though they were kind enough to offer a discount since they understood the situation and it was at no fault of ours, there is still a good amount that I have to pay. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
