ESTRANGED is a Howard University thesis film written and directed by Chandler Robinson.

What is the film about?

Inspired by a true story, when a young man visits his younger sister in prison, he must decide whether to perjure himself after she tried to kill him.

What are you raising funds for?

Donations will go toward equipment rentals, meals on set, location fees, insurance, editing, and festival submission fees.

Why does this story matter?

Being trusted with the story of a domestic violence survivor is not something we take lightly. Within our film, we are restructuring what it means to be an abuser and a survivor. ESTRANGED explores themes of abuse, PTSD, trauma, therapy, and Christianity through the lens of a child.

Who is Chandler Noelle Robinson?

Chandler Noelle Robinson is a 2x award-winning writer, director, executive producer, and the founder and CEO of Noelle Imgs LLC. Chandler has worked for Paramount/BET, the NAACP Image Awards, and the NAACP Hollywood Bureau. Her work has been featured in The Washington Post, MSNBC, ABC 7, Glasshouse Radio/WHUR-FM, ESPN, and more. Chandler currently attends Howard University, where she is a senior in the Cathy Hughes School of Communications and has dedicated two years to the development of this film.
