Hello friend of Esther the Wonder Pig!
My name is Heather Pardon, I'm from Salt Spring Island, B.C. (that's in Canada, eh) and I'd like to invite you to get involved in a fun sanctuary-warming gift for Happily Ever Esther.
I'm one of Esther's many fans and am incredibly grateful for everything that Esther and her family bring to the world - smiles, laughs, hope, community, connection, kindness, sanctuary and so much more.
As you likely know, Derek and Steve are well underway with their sanctuary plans and have scheduled an "official opening" for this coming July. Recently, I decided that I'd like to send some sort of sanctuary-warming gift to them and thought.... but what? Unlike some of Esther's other very talented fans, I'm not nearly as fabulous and don't knit, sew or paint.
Then it hit me! Here on Salt Spring Island, there's a fellow by the name of Roger Brunt who makes fairy doors (www.fairydoorman.com ) which are highly popular, and make great gifts. Roger has placed several fairy doors around the island, people love finding them and many folks leave behind trinkets, notes or offerings for the fairies.
Here's a fairy door that sits by a tree in the main village on Salt Spring Island.

Wherever they are placed, a fairy door brings fun, good energy and engagement with the community. So I thought that a fairy door would make for a great sanctuary-warming gift for Happily Ever Esther, something that will bring some more good vibes to the farm, provide a home for the fairies on the farm (you DO believe in fairies, right?!) and engage visitors when they stop by.
I've also heard a rumour that the names of the barns are fairy-tail themed so this will fit right in :-)
Here's where you come in:
Esther, Derek and Steve have given us and the animals so much, I'd like to invite you to join in this gift as a way to say thank you and to give them our best wishes as the sanctuary continues to unfold.
It'd be great to have many of Esther's friends participate in helping to create a wonderful community for the "Happily Ever Esther Fairies". The more, the fairier, as the saying goes.
Here's the plan:
I have ordered a fairy door from Roger which should be ready in about a week from now (April 18th-ish)*Note: See updates for photos and more current info. From there, a few Esther fans/volunteers will paint, decorate and treat them for the outdoors.
All donors are invited to submit a trinket which will be part of the Happily Ever Esther Fairy Community. It doesn't have to be fancy or expensive, something that represents you, your country, your wishes for the farm, whatever. Check out the Facebook page (link below), folks have shared some ideas there if you need inspiration.
Donors can mail their item to me and I'll put everything together in one package and ship it off to HEEFS. This is an easy and affordable way to show our love and appreciation and give a gift that will make an impact for years to come.
The doors will look like this (it's cedar) but without the angel on it. There is plenty of room to paint and decorate it (The HEEFS logo will go on one of the doors), the door is hinged so there's also room to paint inside. They are about 12 inches in height.

Here's the estimated budget:
Cost of the doors = $100
Estimated shipping costs = $60
Card = $5
Painting = being done by an Esther fan volunteers
The intention is twofold:
1. Give our love, appreciation and best wishes to Derek, Steve and the whole Esther family through this sanctuary-warming gift.
2. To give a sanctuary-warming donation and sow the seeds of more good fortune for HEEFS in the future.
As of April 18th, our costs are more than covered, all excess funds will be donated directly to HEEFS as a collective gift from the Esther Fairy Community.
Here's how you can get involved:
1. Make a donation through this campaign page (by June 23rd, when this campaign will end). Any amount is welcome and all donors will have their name included on a card which will be presented to Esther and her family. (suggested donation: $whatever works for you)
2. Once you've made a donation, you can send an offering for the "Happily Ever Esther Fairies" to me at:
Heather Pardon
195 Pringle Farm Road
Salt Spring Island, British Columbia
Canada V8K 2Y2
*Please ensure delivery before May 25th to guarantee inclusion with the gift and remember that lighter items are cheaper and easier to ship! (if your trinket arrives after May 25th, don't worry, I'll be able to get it to the farm before the grand opening) So get creative, and also ensure it is something that can handle being outdoors. If you live near the sanctuary, of course, you can always drop off your offering once the door is installed, which will be in time for the grand opening on July 1st.
Updated: After May 25th, I can email you an address to send trinkets to which is in Ontario.
I also invite you to join the "A Fairy Community for Happily Ever Esther " Facebook page (hover your mouse over that title, click and the internet fairies will take you right there) where I'll post regular updates so you can see everything come together.
Lastly, let's try to keep this as a surprise for the HEEFS family which I realize is rather difficult in the internet age but please, keep this under your hat as best you can. Hopefully Esther's dads are too busy with those piglets to fnd out what we're up to.
If you have any questions about the HEEFS fairy door project, please just send me a message. I'd be happy to answer any questions you may have.
Peace, Love, Esther :-)
