My best friend’s mother and grandmother have been displaced after a fire broke out in their home this morning in Cave Spring. The Roanoke County Fire and Rescue Department was met with heavy smoke and flames as they responded to their aid. Those immediately impacted include Esther Martin (63) and Rebecca Aydlett (83).

Much to their devastation, the house fire resulted in a total loss, including all of their belongings, lifelong keepsakes, and memories inside. Two beloved cats remain missing.

Esther and Rebecca are steadfast in their faith, beloved by their community, and devoted to First Baptist Church.

I am raising money in support of this family unexpectedly faced with surreal and unimaginable loss. Let’s come together as a community to help them back on their feet!
