Estelle Broke Her Ankle!
Donation protected
I live on the Alabama coast and it's been raining here every day since... I honestly can't even remember our last dry day. This morning I slipped on the now slimy wood of my porch and broke my ankle. The doctor said I have a fractured fibula (or was it tibia? will update when I can find my paper). And that, more seriously, the structure of my ankle was "disrupted" and moved in such ways that could cause me pain for the rest of my life if not treated properly.
I don't have health insurance. I work full time for a VERY small business, so small that they are not required to offer me any.
My starting figure is $5,000 because that's roughly the cost of my ER bill plus lost income from missed work. If I am able to get a reduction of costs, any excess funds will go towards reconstruction surgery.
I will give updates as I get them and adjust the goal amount as needed, whether that is up or down.
I asked my Ortho about still going to DragonCon next week and as long as I stay in a wheelchair, I'm good. All of that is already paid for in full, so please don't think I'm being irresponsible with donated funds. DragonCon attendance money was spent months ago when I was fine.
Thank you for your compassion. I love you.
