Hello and thank you for taking the time to check out this page.
We're a group of friends doing everything we can to help one of our own, "Estee" (who will be referred to as such until she is in a safe and secure environment to protect her from those seeking to cause her further harm), be able to get to a safe place and start a healthy life away from the abusive living situation she's currently trapped in.
Estee is in her early 20s, living in a village town with no work opportunities available to her. She has had to struggle with severe and violent household domestic abuse for many years and they have all come to a head now which is causing serious harm to Estee's well-being.
Estee is a wonderful and caring person, with talent and skills that have been held back by the living situation she is trapped in. She wants to go to school, be able to work, but most importantly have the autonomy to live the life she would have outside of her current living situation and away from her abusive and unsafe surroundings.
As her friends, we have done and are continuing to do all that we can to support and assist her, but there are various obstacles in our path:
- Estee does not currently have a bank account and relies on PayPal, gift cards or physical cash to pay for things.
- Estee is in an area with no public transport options. Estee also does not have a driver's license and is very limited in her driving capability.
- Estee's current state ID is expired, preventing her from verifying her identity in various circumstances (some deliveries, opening a bank account, etc..)
- All of us live much too far away to be able to help her physically and immediately, with the closest of us being in the same state but still quite a distance away with no good method of transport.
- While in her current housing situation, she needs to be able to pay for her internet and phone bill as well as the house gas bill.
With all that in mind, we as Estee's friends are all coming together to help support her essential needs throughout this process, but can only help so much with our means.
Therefore we have made this page to seek not only financial support but any possible assistance in providing aid and getting Estee to a safe place.
While our goal is 10k, we hope to be able to close this fundraiser down long before being anywhere near that limit, as even much less could be enough to achieve all we need to help Estee, but we want to play it safe and take into account more than just the essential needs but also account for any variables that could come up.
Here is a quick list of what we will be focusing all donated funds into:
- Groceries. She has already been denied food stamps, and the priority is to feed Estee so she can have better strength and energy to accomplish what she needs to be doing.
- Household bills (Internet/Phone & Gas). We need to make sure she can stay in contact so she can be reached, as well as make sure she can stay warm until the cold weather has fully passed.
- Paying for all required documents Estee needs (Passport, State ID, required photographs, etc...) as well as any travel or mailing costs necessary for obtaining these documents.
- To create a bank account for her to be able to receive funds.
- Build up enough of a savings fund for her to relocate somewhere safe.
We intend to keep receipts, keep everyone adequately updated on progress and when Estee is finally safe, allow her the chance to reveal herself and tell her story fully.
The art you see on this page is Estee's own. Estee would like to offer anyone who donates to this fundraiser a new art piece in return for their support. Once she has had time to recover and settle after her relocation, any donors interested can request a piece of either digital or physical art to be sent to them at a later date.
