Hello, my name is Stefanie. Thank you for taking the time to read about my beautiful son, Esteban “Hosea” Wheeler.

Hosea is a 17-year-old high school honor roll senior at Morton West, and member of The Bryan A. Schrader Chapter of DeMolay. He is a kind, gentle, and intelligent person who enjoys activities typical of any high schooler his age: doing weights, playing video games, watching movies, and spending time with his family and girlfriend Alyssa.

On November 2, 2023, Hosea was involved in a violent motorcycle accident. Words cannot express the extreme grief we felt as a family when we discovered the extent of this accident. Hosea suffered a broken femur, torn ligaments in both wrists, a subclavian artery injury, and a brachial plexus injury that has resulted in the complete loss of function/feeling in his left arm.

Hosea is still recovering and processing from this traumatic experience, both physically and mentally. Since the accident, our family has had to make radical lifestyle changes as we transition and accept this new reality.

In January of this year, we received incredible news from the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota. Due to the severity of Hosea’s situation, they accepted our case and will begin moving forward with treatment. This is a tremendous blessing for our family and especially for Hosea's parents, Stefanie and Kevin Wheeler.

We do not want the burden of looming financial debt to cloud this incredible opportunity of working with the Mayo Clinic. Any amount you are able to donate is greatly appreciated.
