We are raising funds on behalf of Mbemba Banja, a Gambian student studying in Medina, Saudi Arabia who has plans to in sha Allah build a Markaz Hifdh (Quran School) & Madrasah back home in The Gambia (Banjul). He has been able to secure a plot of land 50x50 metres but now owes 800000 Gambian Dalasi (£9270) for this land which we are fundraising for.

The Markaz intends to accommodate upto 100 students at a time and will provide Quran, Arabic & Islamic studies lessons. This is Stage 1 of a 2 Stage project where afterwards we aim to build the centre after paying off the land.

This fundraiser will have started within the first 10 days of Dhul Hijjah 1445 where as the Prophet ‎ﷺ told us in an authentic hadith that Ibn Abbas (May Allah be pleased with him and his father) reported that the Prophet ﷺ said: "There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days." The people asked, "Not even jihad for the sake of Allah?" He said, "Not even jihad for the sake of Allah, except in the case of a man who went out to fight giving himself and his wealth up for the cause, and came back with nothing." (Reported by al-Bukhari, 2/457).
