Establish an ICT facility in rural Ghana

Hi, my name is Philip, and I'm fundraising for an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to iNspire; Empower; and Transform (iNET) deprived students in rural Ghana.

I started my academic journey in a tiny village in Ghana called Mpohor. The junior high school I attended had several challenges, including woefully inadequate basic infrastructure. Despite the unsurmountable difficulties, I excelled and emerged as the best graduating student. I was able to rise against all odds to attend university, graduating with First Class Honours in BSc Agricultural Engineering. I obtained a prestigious scholarship for my PhD at The University of Queensland in Australia, where I have eight years of experience as a Research Fellow.

I have now become an inspiration and a role model to many students in my community in rural Ghana. However, many students cannot progress to the senior high school level because of a lack of basic infrastructure in the school.

One way of changing this narrative and empowering the students' future is by providing basic facilities. In this light, I am organising ‘The iNET Project’ to increase access to ICT in the school. In today’s world, access to ICT is fundamental. However, it is a luxury for the students to see a mouse, let alone click on one!

I am calling on everyone to support me in whichever way you can to meet this basic educational need. Who knows, there are probably many ‘Philips’ waiting to emerge from this deprived school.
