Essential top surgery for Izsak

Top Surgery GoFundMe
Hello everyone,
My name’s Izsak Glasgow. I’m 18, transgender, and starting college this fall (!!). I’ve known who I am since middle school, and I’ve been out and living as Izsak since sophomore year. It’s been a long process of figuring myself out, but I’m finally in a place where I feel grounded in who I am and who I want to become.
The one thing still holding me back from feeling fully comfortable in my body is top surgery.
Growing up, my family never really had money for things like this. We’ve always lived paycheck to paycheck. Top surgery is expensive (like, $10,000 expensive), and that’s just never been something we could consider. But it’s something I’ve thought about for years. I want to start this next chapter of my life feeling like me, not hiding under layers or binding every day, not worrying about how I’ll be seen or if I’ll be misgendered the second I walk into a dorm or a classroom.
For a lot of trans people, binding helps manage dysphoria in the meantime. But I live with chronic medical conditions, including Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) and Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), and binding just isn’t safe for me. The compression worsens my symptoms as the compression is not focused on my extremities, but rather my chest. My doctors have even recommended I avoid it altogether. That makes top surgery not just affirming, but necessary for my health and well-being. It’s the best option for me, emotionally and physically, and yet, it’s completely out of reach financially.
I’m hoping to get top surgery before college, and I need your help to get there.
Every donation, no matter the amount, goes directly toward my surgery and the related costs. And if you can’t donate, sharing this means the world too. Thank you again.
All my love,
Izsak
