Essential Supplies for Swannanoa and Black Mountain

I am asking for donations to purchase basic necessities for Swannanoa and Black Mountain, NC.

The devastation is extensive, and I had to drive yesterday from Columbia, SC to the area over multiple downed power lines (even one stretched across I-40), wiped out roads, and over major mud flow issues (also one on I-26 plus many more in Swannanoa) with no cell phone service.

My parents, along with thousands of other people in the region east of Asheville, are without power, water, and cell service. The areas of Swannanoa and Black Mountain (as well as many more) are in great need of water, food (including for infants and pets), personal hygiene items, gasoline, flashlights, and batteries at the minimum. So many homes have been damaged, and cleaning supplies, heavy-duty trash bags, tools such as axes, saws, rakes, etc., are also desperately needed.

I am driving back to Black Mountain via Swannanoa on Saturday, October 5th, to deliver more supplies. I bought over $1,200 of water, food, and supplies that I took up to the area yesterday, but I have been unable to find donation sites along my way to load up my SUV from Columbia.

If you would like to donate any amount to this GoFundMe, I will purchase the items listed above and deliver them to the area. If anyone can bring food trucks to the area, I know the residents would also be so thankful for a warm meal. I don't think news outlets are giving the information about the areas east of Asheville, including Swannanoa, Black Mountain, Old Fort, etc. There are so many people in desperate need to get the basics to survive.

Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions about the area. DO NOT drive to Swannanoa and Black Mountain without an SUV or truck, an EXTRA filled gas container, food/water, and the willingness to drive over unsafe conditions. Add in no or spotty cell service east and south of Asheville.
