Essential Supplies for Ibrahim’s Family in Gaza

Hi, it’s me Ibrahim Alghorane, a 20-year-old Software Engineering student at the University of Glasgow.
I’m one of the students who were recently evacuated from Gaza to the UK after being granted university scholarships.

Over the past months, my story and campaign to reach safety and continue my education have been covered by several major media outlets — including The National, Glasgow Guardian, and Glasgow Times.

When I left, I left behind everything — my family, the ruins of our home, and the memories of what my parents built for us.

My father, the teacher Ayman, passed away at the beginning of 2023. Soon after, our mother Nima, who had been fighting brain cancer for eight years, grew worse. In 2023 she suffered repeated comas, seizures, and severe breathing problems as fibrosis in her lungs stole her last breaths. After months between Gaza and Egypt, and countless efforts to keep her alive, she passed away on 9 June 2025, leaving six children without parents.
Our sister Tasneem remained stuck in Egypt after traveling there with our mother for treatment, and she is still unable to return.
They are Tasneem (28), Abdullah (25), Ahmad (22), and the twins Mohammad and Yahya (14). Abdullah suffers from a brain tumor that causes seizures and irregular heartbeats; his medicines are extremely expensive — between $20 and $40 per pill — and often unavailable for weeks. Mohammad lives with Behçet’s disease and must take immune-suppressing pills ($15 each, two per day) to prevent dangerous eye bleeding; without them, he could go blind.
Since our father’s death, the only income stopped. The small pension our mother received ended with her passing. They now live on rented land in Gaza, paying around $600 a month just to place a tent. There is no clean water, no electricity, and food is difficult to find.
Mohammad and Yahya, still only fourteen, carry the weight of fear no child should know. Nights are filled with the sounds of drones instead of lullabies, and the darkness of the tent has replaced the warmth of a home. Their childhood has turned into silence and waiting, yet they still hold on to small hopes — school, safety, and the dream of a normal life.
Ahmad studies Business Administration and Abdullah continues in Civil Engineering, but their university fees remain unpaid. The twins have been kept out of school because of the costs. Despite everything, they still dream of continuing their education.
Your support helps them survive — to buy medicine, pay for food and rent, and keep studying even in the middle of destruction. It means they can hold on to the little hope left after losing everything.

Please note that around 20–25% of the total amount will be deducted as international transfer and processing fees when sending the funds to Gaza.

Thank you.
