Over the past 5 years, I have been working in the world of biological research and environmental education. I have decided to take my experience a step further and create my own nature immersion summer camp.  In order for this camp to be the best experience it can be for these young children, I want to purchase supplies that will allow for the campers to experience nature, and learn about the natural world in as many ways as possible. From learning about birds and watching them through binoculars, to activities that delve deeper into children's wonder and curiosity. We will learn through in depth exploration of the ecosystem,  observing, identifying and learning about all the wonders that make up our natural landscape, while instilling in the campers a sense of respect and stewardship for the world they live in.  Marie's Minnows will have campers outside exploring, communicating, learning and creating, with nature as our playground. It is so important for children, especially in an urban environment like Los Angeles, to be able to experience the natural world both physically and tangibly, and with your help, I can make their summer experience even greater!

-crafting materials, such as natural paints, oil paints, clay, drawing paper and small canvases, printing material, weaving tools 
-portable shade structure 
-field guides (animals, trees, flowers, tracks) 
-magnifying glasses 
-bug collecting materials and identification cards (nets, canisters) 
-first aid supplies 
-other materials to blend fun with education and team building skills (soccer ball, frisbee, hula hoops)
