Essential Items for 5 children with disabilities

Hello, I'm Emmanuel Eli, a 20-year-old volunteer from World Vision Orphanage in Sokode, Ghana.

Despite limited ressouces, our Team makes a great effort to offer care and opportunities to over 50 children from mostly rural areas, 5 of whom have disabilities.

Our support is essential for these children, some of which were abandoned by their families because of their disability.

For me it is heart-wrenching to see their daily struggles, like having to sleep on the floor, not getting adequate help with their physical and mental challenges and lacking basic necessities like backpacks, notebooks and pencils.

We believe this situation needs to change urgently, which is why we are asking you for support.

We need your help to provide our children with essential items to improve their daily lives.

Your support will help us to acquire:

- Wheelchairs for Disabled Children: 3 wheelchairs

- Special Assistance: glasses for 2 colorblind children

- 4 mattresses

- 5 backpacks with pencil kits

- Notebooks and Art Supplies

- Mental Health Learning Kit

About us:

The World Vision Orphanage in Sokode, near the city of Ho in the Volta Region of Ghana was established in 2017 by the US-American Mr. Wilson who now permanently lives there. Currently our team of 4 full-time employees and 7 volunteers (all Ghanaians) works hard to provide care and opportunities to our over 50 children who come mostly from the rural areas of Ghana and in many cases have nobody else to rely on.

5 of our children come with disabilities, which would require wheelchairs for three of them and colorblind glasses for two of them. Unfortunately we do not have the means to buy these at the moment.

We send the children to school and help them to complete an apprenticeship for them to be able to live independent lives. Furthermore we engage them in extra activities to spark their curiosity and entertain them through play or arts.

The success of our mission and the quality of life of our children rely on donations, since this is our only source of income as of now.
