Our queen and savior, Esperanza (prep cook), had a medical condition that has caused her to be out of work for over 1 month.

Esperanza is truly the backbone of our restaurant, and like many restaurants, the unsung hero that makes the wheels go round. She is such a bright light to all of us. It feels like you are working with your Aunty, who genuinely cares about your well being and the quality of everyone's work. She can regularly be found saying "que sistema", cutting over 100lbs of cucumbers, poking you in the ribs, or on her off days, of course, at Iglesia.

Anyone who works in a kitchen can tell you that missing even one week of work can be the difference between making rent or NOT. For her patience, grace, tutelage, kindness, smile, and endless hrs of demanding/strenuous work, it is certainly in her karma that we find a way to help her.
