My Borneo Expedition – Help Me Make a Difference

Hi, I’m Esme, and I’ve been given the amazing opportunity to take part in a 4-week school expedition to Borneo in 2027 with Camps International. This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to explore a completely different part of the world, challenge myself, and make a real difference.

During the trip, I’ll:

Live in a rural village and work with local communities

Help build things like classrooms, water systems, and community buildings

Take part in conservation projects to protect endangered species like orangutans

Go on a 5-day trek through the jungle, experiencing true off-grid living

Learn about a new culture and way of life

This expedition isn’t just about travel—it’s about growth. I’ll be stepping far outside my comfort zone, learning resilience, independence, teamwork, and leadership in ways that no classroom could ever teach. I’ll gain a deeper understanding of the world and my place in it, and I know this experience will shape who I am for years to come

The total cost of the trip is £5490, which covers travel, food, accommodation, insurance, and all the project work. I’m not relying just on this page—I’m planning lots of fundraising events like bake sales, sponsored challenges, and more to help raise the money myself. But I’d be so grateful for any support to help me get started.
