Esmae aplastic anemia journey.

Hi my name is Adam and I am fundraising for my good friend Jordan and his partner Peyton who have had an absolute horrid couple of months. They both welcomed a beautiful baby girl into the world in July 2022 and it has been an absolute rollercoaster for them.

She has spent most of her life in and out of hospital after having many different viruses from mrsa to colds. The doctors kept treating her with antibiotics but couldn't find where the virus was in the end. Jordan spent all day in the hospital with Esmae and Peyton and then went home to their 2 year old son to also look after him. She then got referred to Noahs Ark Hospital in Cardiff where Jordan has had travel 120 mile round trip everyday to see his daughter and partner and be with them in this difficult time.

They have now found out that she has been diagnosed with aplastic anemia and requires a bone marrow transplant. This rare condition only effects 30 to 40 children a year.

Aplastic anemia is a condition that occurs when your body stops producing enough new blood cells. Aplastic anemia leaves you feeling fatigued and with a higher risk of infections and uncontrolled bleeding.

A rare and serious condition, aplastic anemia can develop at any age. Aplastic anemia may occur suddenly, or it can occur slowly and get worse over a long period of time. Treatment for aplastic anemia may include medications, blood transfusions or a stem cell transplant, also known as a bone marrow transplant.

Fortunately her brother has been identified as a match and they are now awaiting a date to have this procedure done. This will not be the end of treatment for her as she may need further chemotherapy and stem cell treatment moving forward.

We are raising money to contribute towards the raising bills and petrol prices they have to endure by having to go through this process.

This is not the end of the road for them as they now have a long battle ahead with visits to Cardiff and further afield such as Bristol and even London, getting her better for the rest of her life.

If you could donate and share this to raise awareness we would really appreciate it.
