The “Octoporpoise’s” are heading to Destination Imagination Globals in Knoxville, TN May 23 – 26th, 2018 to compete in the largest creative thinking and problem solving competition in the world! Over 150,000 young people have competed to earn a spot in Global Finals, and we made it! While there, we will represent Team Minnesota as well as Esko Winterquist Elementary School. The team includes Jack, Sydney, Alec, Annika, Patrick, Aspen and Piper and they are an outstanding group of 5th graders.
We are requesting your financial help in supporting us and would appreciate contributions of any size in order to help us reach our goal.
· Our entrance, housing, food and transportation will cost approximately $12,500.
· We need to raise this money within three weeks. The competition is May 23 – 26th; and we just found out we made it.
· Without funding, our teams may not be able to compete.
· These students are talented leaders, problem solvers and future employees. As they work together solving team challenges, they build and refine valuable skills such as patience, flexibility, persistence, respect for others and their ideas, collaboration, project management, teamwork and problem solving. The challenge solutions require the use of Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Fine Arts and Service Learning.
