June 2026: Update!
Hello, and thanks so much to everyone who has donated to Escuelitas so far. Your money has helped fund our educational courses in Denver and beyond. Now we're updating this fundraiser with a new goal: earlier this year we teamed up with bartenders from Minneapolis to launch The Shift Change Tour, where we're hitting the road to take classes to impacted and vulnerable communities around the US.

We're currently self-funding our own travel and lodging, so we're reorienting this gofundme to raise money to support the tour logistics specifically. Community organization happens best in real time, face to face, so this work is critical in helping equip the hospitality industry with the skills needed for navigating through the current political landscape.

Every donation will help fund flights and hotel rooms for our representatives and the participating bartenders, and cover guest speaker's fees and printed materials. Our goal is to visit one city per month for the rest of 2026.

Thanks so much for the support!

What is The Shift Change Tour?
Created as a partnership between bartenders from Meteor in Minneapolis and Escuelitas, a 501c3 in Denver, The Shift Change Tour is a multi-city engagement educating hospitality workers on their constitutional rights, community advocacy, and civil engagement, and raising money and awareness for immigrants working in the business. Every stop features two events per city: The first, a “lunch and learn” seminar on constitutional rights, bystander/observer training, first aid, and de-escalation techniques, to prepare bartenders for crises of all kinds. The second, a cocktail pop-up to raise awareness and funds for local immigration rights organizations and community relief efforts. The 2026 tour kicked off in Chicago and Denver, and will be followed by dates in Seattle, Milwaukee, New York City, Phoenix, and Portland, Oregon, with plans to add subsequent dates and locations.

What is Escuelitas?
Our mission is to educate, empower, and organize the hospitality community to protect its most vulnerable from this administrations cruel immigration policies. Our constitutional rights course gives attendees a better understanding of their civil rights and their ability to stand together against injustice. These funds will go to helping us secure travel, lodging, food, beverage for attendees, and printing resources to get to as many cities with our informative seminars. We tailor each class to the individual state legal needs, and pair communities with hyper local organizations as additional assistance. We are hoping to service every state and educate more impacted communities, knowledge is power!
