Escaping the Shadow of Conflict:A plea for basic needs
Donation protected
In the heart of war-torn Gaza, Amjad Jaber — a 28-year-old medical lab technician — once served his community with pride at the Palestinian Medical Relief Society.
Today, that life is a memory.
His workplace is destroyed. His income is gone. And every day has become a battle — not for dreams, but for survival.
Amjad is now the sole caregiver for his elderly parents, both in fragile health and in desperate need of daily medical attention. But in Gaza, even basic necessities are a luxury.
There is no cooking gas. Families rely on firewood — $2 per kilogram — just to bake bread or boil water. The smoke chokes the air and worsens respiratory problems for the elderly.
Electricity is scarce. Clean water is a struggle. Food prices are unimaginable:
Flour: $150 for a 25kg bag — it barely lasts two weeks.
Sugar: $10/kg (was $2)
Cooking oil: $15/liter (was $2.70)
Tomatoes: $12/kg
Potatoes: $16/kg
There is no stability. No safety. No escape.
For Amjad, leaving Gaza is not a choice — it is a lifeline. He dreams of building a new life where he can care for his parents in dignity, find work, and live free from fear.
Your donation can help provide:
Emergency food and medication
Clean water and hygiene supplies
Support for relocation and safe shelter
Every dollar makes a difference.
Please help us fight hunger, protect the elderly, and give Amjad’s family a chance at life.
