Escaping Hurricanes, SlumLords - Drops make oceans

Donation protected
To those of you who know us, you know how grateful we are for any assistance whatsoever. I worked in a non-profit for 5 years and I would always look for quotes to say thank you for donating with and I came across "Drops Make Oceans". My heart melted. Yes, $1 is a drop but that's fine. Whatever you can do is greatly appreciated. For those of you who may not know us, we are Lynn and Danny Henderson from, let's just say a very southern US state and for the last 11 years, we lived on the marsh because Danny served as Maintenance Supervisor for 11 years here in this hellish heat and running from hurricanes almost every year for 21 years! Danny is 64 and was trying to make it to 66 &  2-months in order to collect his full Social Security Benefits, but the heat gets worse each year and of course we get older. He has AFIB, and clogged heart arteries and therefore the heat really makes him weak and sick. He has had back surgeries but still needs very expensive Cortizone shots that our insurance doesn't cover, just as I need Prolia and it's $4k for 2 shots a year, insurance won't cover! I can't save my osteoporosis riddled bones because I can't pay $4k a year when I too am disabled due to PTSD from childhood trauma, I've also been diagnosed with major depression and anxiety! Imagine that in America?!? I have a list of ailments and have been fighting for my Social Security Disability benefits since I became ill in  November of 2014. Denied, denied, denied and I'm only 60! I can't just watch him die on the job from the outdoor heat/work. I can't bear the thoughts of watching him drop dead here in a place that we both loathe for SO many reasons. We are leaving in our 2004 travel trailer that we managed to get because a local RV sales and rental company took payments. It was on the verge of being scrap but piece by piece, I think she will be livable when we plan to take our 1st road trip and it will actually be our only home until and hopefully even after we hit the Canadian border.  You see, our medical bills are not only forcing us into bankruptcy, we're not even getting the proper care, i.e. Danny's Cortizone shots and my Prolia shots are impossible for us to afford on his meak "suthan" salary. My stomach cannot handle the by mouth Osteo Meds because I have severe GERD and a hernia. So, we are falling apart and headed to freezing cold Canada because we deserve to live. We've both been in the workforce since we were 15 years old, however, as of 7-30-19, Danny will be on Social Security benefits. They say it takes a couple months or longer to get your payments started. We don't have a couple of months to wait. We need gas and food to travel as well as anything else we can manage to still pay on while fighting bankruptcy.  We're selling everything we own in order to try and at least have an emergency fund we can manage to hold onto for any emergencies or God forbid breakdowns, etc. I could write a book and almost have. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions whatsoever. Again, thanks so very much for anything that you can spare. We are truly grateful and will be happy to pay it forward once settled in Canada. Did I mention that Danny also needs a knee replacement? Oh yes, and his employer has threatened to break our concession agreement and evict us if he didn't have enough sick time to cover the operation, therefore he is also working in the heat on the bum knee, with the bad heart and blood pressure fluctuations. So... we hope and pray that by 7/30/19 we will be pulling out of Hurricane Hell and into the TOT (this old trailer) headed far north. Please forward to anyone whom you feel may want to help.

Sending ALL, donations or not, much love, light and peace.

Yours for a better tomorrow,
Lynn Henderson
