I am Naeem Handouka, and I am 30 years old. The recent bombings in Gaza have completely destroyed my life and the lives of my family.
We are now homeless, without property or work after our home and workplace were destroyed. We left our house with nothing but the clothes on our backs and some identification papers in our bags. We moved to the south of the city to live in a small tent with 12 family members and two children.
We are reaching out to our community in a sincere plea for help. We want to leave this city, full of murder, destruction, and hunger, but we cannot do so because of the high prices for coordination to leave the city safely. The price per person costs $7,000 to agree to travel abroad, but we cannot afford that.
Every donation, no matter the size, will make a huge difference in helping me rebuild my family's lives and provide basic necessities for the children. The devastation has left us in a precarious situation, including looming debts from the now-destroyed home and workplace, as well as some other debts accumulated during the construction of that previous war. Your support at this very difficult time will give my family and our children hope in the midst of despair. Your generosity will not only help us secure food, clothing, and livelihood, but also restore our faith in the kindness of humanity.
