Hi, my name is Brooke, and I’m reaching out for help during one of the toughest times in my life. I’m 26 years old and have always fought my way through life with strength and resilience. However, I’ve endured domestic violence for basically my whole life, and it has left deep emotional scars.
I have battled domestic violence with both of my parents. I first escaped an abusive situation with my mother, only to end up in another unsafe environment with my father. I had hoped for a fresh start, but instead, I found myself trapped in another cycle of fear and instability. Now, I’m at a point where I need to break free completely and build a life where I finally feel safe.
I may be young, but I’m an old soul. I don’t party, I don’t smoke, and I’ve never gone down the same destructive path that so many others in difficult circumstances have. We all have our battles, and this has been mine. This fresh start will take an enormous weight off my shoulders and allow me to finally begin healing.
I do have some leads on housing, which is a huge step forward. The only thing holding me back is securing the bond to lock in a safe place to live. Once I have that, I can finally move forward.
I have a lot of the basics to survive and move out, but there are still a few big-ticket items I need to make this transition successful. On top of everything, my laptop just died right in the thick of this, which has been a huge setback, as it’s a big part of my small side business working with animals. Losing that income source has made an already tough situation even harder.
I’m not someone who asks for help easily, but I now need a fresh start—a safe place to call home where I can rebuild my life. The funds raised will go toward:
• A house bond to secure a safe living environment
• A washing machine, microwave, and a new laptop so I can continue my work and regain stability
• Other essentials to get me back on my feet
Through it all, my pet guinea pig, Harry, has been a constant source of comfort and love. I want to ensure he, too, has a safe and happy home as I begin this new chapter.
