Anna was in a bad car accident on the evening of October 28th, she was life flighted to UNMC and she has since been in the ICU. Her injuries include: they removed her spleen & part of her liver (due to internal bleeding), she currently has a wound vac on her stomach.. her right leg is severely injured (a broken heel, ankle, fibula, tibula, knee).. she has broken ribs.. and had a partially collapsed lung, her left arm is broken & a couple of broken fingers on her left hand, also her left hip was dislocated. There has been a CT scan and her brain is not injured.

She is in critical condition and has been sedated & on a ventilator. Doctors have been focusing on keeping her stabilized so her body can have a chance to recuperate, so they can then move forward on the many surgeries to get all of her injuries fixed. October 31st (today) will be when her surgery is to close her abdomen back up and if everything goes well the ventilator should be coming out soon too.

Anna is sedated but she responded to me the first night we got to see her when I was in there with her! I was holding her hand and I told her I would be back in a couple of hours and she squeezed my hand tight and opened her eyes, looked at me & shook her head no, & then I asked her if she wanted me to stay and she nodded. We believe she is going to pull through this. She is a strong person and still has a lot to live for, & many more memories to make.. A husband and daughter to come back home to and family & friends that love her more than words can express. Thank you to everyone for all of the prayers and support it really does mean a lot. There is going to be a long road to recovery and Anna will need all of the prayers and positive vibes she can get, so please send those her way.
