Medical expenses for Mason

Mason is currently in a Mexican hospital undergoing surgery. I have setup a go fund me to help this amazing family with the unexpected expenses during what was suppose to an amazing spring break trip turned horrific.

Life is fragile and fleeting and no matter how hard you try to control it, you can’t. We arrived in Mexico around 5 and by 6:30 I rushed Mason to the local hospital. After many tests and pokes, it was determined he needed an appendectomy. By this time it’s 11:30 pm and we faced the next obstacle. Mason’s blood pressure was at 140/90, white blood cell counts over 17,000 and pain getting unmanageable. In order to proceed the wanted payment in full for the treatment. Our Insurance wasn’t accepted. At midnight, on a Sunday, in Mexico we scrambled to figure out how to authorize $40k. No luck. They asked me to sign a voluntary release and we should leave without payment. No way.

After several firm conversations, I was able to convince them to get him a room and pain meds. The care was fantastic upstairs through the night. Mason got some sleep and I watched his every breath. Praying. Praying so hard.

This morning we got the funds here. Paperwork started and his surgery team is assembling as we speak. He will go in around 10 am and hopefully return to me within an hour. He is very brave and calm. I am not.

Please keep our family in your thoughts. For Mason’s health #1 but also for the rest of the crew. Aarons trying to keep the kids busy and have some fun at the resort. I know he’d rather be here. I still cannot wrap my head around all of this but am only focused on Mason right now. We love him so much!!
