Many of you have not had the privilege to meet my mom. Her name is Teresa and she has the biggest heart out of anyone I have ever known. I could easily tell you simple things like shes the single mother of three kids, she is a daughter, she is a nurse and she is a friend, but that really does not give you a great picture of who my  mom really is.

         She is more then just her various titles. She has a huge heart and even with the little that she has, she is always willing to help those in need. She raised my sisters and me on her own and has put us all through Catholic schools to make sure we could in her eyes "be more then she ever was." She's adopted many lost souls throughout the years and has opened her home to those who were in need without even thinking of the added burden on herself. 

          With all that being said  my mother has been sick for the past two months. With countless emergency and doctor's visits they continued to tell her it was just pneumonia and a pulled muscle. They gave her antibiotics and sent her home. Two times my mom was called back into the hospital because she was sceptic.

            This last time she was called in on the Thursday before Halloween and she has been there ever since. They found that she had osteomyelitis, pneumonia, a infection in her blood and an infection in her lungs. 
On Monday evening she was brought to the ICU and was intubated and put on life support because she was incapable of breathing on her own.  She's suffered other complications such as acute kidney failure and has had various issues with her heart. Even after she comes off of the ventilator she will not be able to leave the hospital until they fully get the infection under control and once that does happens and they deem her able to leave, the doctors are not expecting it any time soon, she will be out of work because she will be sent home on IV antibiotics and need a ton of physical therapy. 

           My mom is never one to ask for help & anyone that knows her can attest to that. She would probably be mad at me for doing this. Unfortunately just because you are sick dosen't mean your bills stop. Even during the time she was sick she sucked it up and went to work to pay her bills until she was too sick to go.

           After sitting with CTI and figuring out what we are able to do, we found that there was not much. She works for an nursing agency so she does not qualify for paid medical or sick leave. Her car loan is incapable of being deferred and the mortgage company has told us if we cannot make the payments to sell the house. My mom has two joys in her life, her kids & her home. With my mom being as sick as she is I don't want her to wake up without a home, a car or anything else she has worked for. Not to mention she still is the primary care taker of my younger sister.  

           My older sister and myself have exhausted what we have to be able to pay what we can and so far that is not much. I am asking for help to be able to keep up with my mothers bills and be able to keep her home until she is able to get back to work. Any amount helps and I can assure you it would mean the world to her and it diffidently to her family.
