Kim's Road to Recovery!
Donation protected
Kim (Turner) Embry is a mother of two very special women in my life, Kyli and Lexi Embry. I cannot name a single memory from my childhood that all three ladies aren't in. They are my second family and as they have supported and stood beside my family for years, it is time for us to give back and do our part in helping them through what has been a nightmare.
Kim has worked at Nocona Medical Clinic for 32 years, constantly and consistently giving back to the community she loves so dearly. Kim has had a long and vigorous fight against the dreaded virus, COVID-19. Kim tested positive for coronavirus on October 12th and was taken by ambulance to Nocona General Hospital on the 23rd and was put on a bipap machine. As her symptoms continued to grow worse, she was taken via care flight to Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Denton and was admitted to the ICU on November 14th. She was then transferred to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth on December 14th where she was on the specialty floor and remained on oxygen. She was then moved to Advanced rehab in Bowie on January 5th to start therapy and still remains on regular oxygen. Though we are extremely thankful for her progress and that God was not ready to take her from us yet, her fight has been one full of uphill battles. Battles that she will continue to face even after she's finally released to come home. The steroids that she was given have completely depleted her muscles to the point of having to relearn how to eat, stand, walk, use the restroom, shower, and has made the most basic functions that you don’t even think about extremely difficult. This has affected her and her family's livelihood and she will continue to need lots of therapy in the future. As completely in awe of God’s blessings as we are, she still has a long road ahead. As you can imagine, the hospital bills are piling up and has added much stress to Kim's road to recovery. As she relearns how to do basic everyday activities, we want to help in any way possible for the financial battles they will face.

Kim and her family will never be able to find the words to express how thankful they are for the outpour of love and support she's gotten from you all. As she still has a long ways to go, we are extremely thankful and blessed for the progress she's made so far. If you are unable to give, please continue to pray for healing and strength for her body as everyday in rehab is a difficult one. Again, they are so thankful for every prayer, comment, words of encouragement and your willingness to give in a time they need it most!
