This is a targeted gofundme campaign, so most of you will already know my daughter Eryn and her wonderful new husband Scott. What you may not know is that after several years of worsening pain and seriously declining health, Eryn was diagnosed last year with accute lyme disease accompanied by multiple coinfections. None of these are are accurately tested for, or recognized by, Canadian health insurance plans, or government coverage.
I started this GoFundMe campaign in an effort to help this amazing young couple pay for Eryn's continuing medical treatment, all of which takes place in Calgary, and for well over a year, has been paid for entirely from their own pockets. Eryn and Scott hope to start their own family as soon as possible, and that Will be possible if she is able to continue and complete her treatment.
Lyme disease and the many coinfections has become a world wide plague. It emerged in the 70's in North America. Justin Bieber is one of many known people suffering from it. It is debilitating and elusive and it effects many people, most of whom are undiagnosed and told there is nothing wrong with them due to lack of awareness and inadequate, extremely costly testing.
It took an unbelievable 3/4' s of a year of travel to Calgary and exhaustive, expensive testing to confirm Eryn's condition prior to being able to start treatment. She is currently in Calgary for the month of May, undergoing a grueling daily medical schedule and is responding extremely well and showing very promising improvement.
It is our hope that with some assistance, Eryn will be able to complete this trip as planned, and make one more before she is forced to stop. We are hoping to raise $50,000 towards her ongoing treatment. The couple has accumulated much more than that figure in debt over the past year and a half and they will not be able to continue without some help.
