Hi all,
My cat Erwin has been hospitalized with a serious urinary blockage. He’s only four and has a good shot at recovery, but the vet says he needs another 1–2 nights of care to reduce the risk of re-blocking. Without it, they’ve told me the chances are high he’ll block again and may need to be put down.
So far, I’ve paid $5,608.94, with $4,100 of that coming from a Care Credit loan. This doesn’t include the $2,200 generously contributed by the Animal Assistance League of Orange County, which covered three nights of emergency care. I’ve now exhausted my savings and have been selling my belongings and reaching out to local organizations for additional help.
This fundraiser was initially set at $4,000 to cover a fourth day at VCA Veterinary Specialists of Orange County. However, with the help of the Central Orange County Emergency Pet Hospital we were able to move forward with Perineal Urethrostomy surgery which will nearly completely eliminate a risk of re-blocking.
The total cost of surgery and after care is estimated to be $5,521.00 with the total cost of care from both VCA + Central OC amounting to $13,275.00
If you can help, I would be incredibly grateful. Even a small amount makes a difference. If you can't, I understand and hope that you’ll consider sharing this fundraiser.
All excess funds will be used to cover ongoing care, pay down the Credit Care loan, and/or will be donated to the Animal Assistance League of Orange County. If there are excess funds or if Erwin is unable to pull through, I will be refunding anybody who requests.
Thank You,
Lee V.
