Please help Errol Anthony Hyde's family

On Saturday, July 30, 2022 Errol Hyde tragically passed away, leaving behind four sons, including 2 young children aged 10 and 18, one of which will be starting university this fall.

In 2018, Errol contracted Blastomycosis, a terrible fungal infection – and spent the next 18 months fighting for his life in and out of comas on a ventilator in intensive care. Blastomycosis decimated Errol’s lungs. The doctors advised Errol’s family that if Errol survived, he would spend the rest of his life on a ventilator, unable to eat, speak or walk again.

Errol proved the doctors wrong, and after months of hard work he walked out of West Park Rehabilitation Centre, stopping at his favourite restaurant on his way home. Despite these incredible achievements, the damage to Errol’s lungs was permanent, and he was not able to return to his place of employment, where he had worked for 30 plus years, in order to support his family.

Blastomycosis continued to take its toll on Errol’s lungs, and on July 30, 2022 it ultimately took Errol’s life.

The family faces the great tragedy of this loss with incredibly heavy hearts and irreparable grief.
