Eros heal from fracture

***2/6 830pm we are back at the ER. Can’t get the pain managed and needing to get the surgery done sooner. He will likely have to wait in a hospital for procedure for 1-2 days.

Hello, my name is Samantha and I have two retired racing greyhounds, Eros & Patch. They are both 11.

On Thursday, January 26th Eros had a freak accident that I did not witness at home. I was hoping it was an interdigital cyst or dislocation but it ended up being badly fractured.

We have tried to spoon splint the foot which we had success with in the past when he fractured this same foot in 2018 but healing a toe is a whole other ballgame. He has had two splint changes and had some skin breakdown already.

Amputation of the toe is scheduled for the week of 2/13.

I have never asked for help before on a Go Fund Me but as I am on my own and facing my own health issue, I am humbly asking now.

Eros has been my heart dog for over 8 years. He deserves the best and is still spunky and playful when he’s not feeling puny.
