Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “When the human being dies, his deeds end except for three: ongoing charity, beneficial knowledge, or a righteous child who prays for him.”

We are fundraising on behalf of our beloved grandfather, Erol Huseyin, who passed away after a 10 month battle with leukemia on the 24th June 2024.(The 18th day of the blessed month Dhuʻl-Hijjah)

He was a pioneer of Islam in our large family & the Turkish community, continuously bringing a vast range of people to accept the beautiful religion of Islam, he was the first of our family to accept Islam and spread the religion gracefully amongst us all, reverting many to Allah & Islam. A man who dedicated his life to pleasing Allah. A man who consistently housed, fed & aided Muslim students and new Muslims in the area.

A kind, caring & compassionate man who always had a smile on his face mashallah & loved for the sake of Allah.

Errol Huseyin played pivotal roles in the establishment of the first mosque in Loughborough. Initially, the Bengali Muslim community used a church hall for prayers, but an incident involving a filthy hall led Fazal Hossain to advocate for a dedicated place of worship. The community identified an unused church on King Street as a potential mosque site and collected funds but needed more to complete the purchase. Fazal Hossain convened a meeting of various Muslim nationalities in Loughborough and proposed Errol Huseyin as the leader of the new committee. Despite his initial reluctance due to thinking he was not worthy enough, Errol accepted and the first mosque meeting elected Errol Huseyin as president, demonstrating unity across nationalities.

The committee, including international students from the university, successfully raised the required funds. Fazal Hossain negotiated the purchase with the bishop, and the mosque, named the Loughborough Islamic Cultural Association, was established. It became the first dedicated Muslim place of worship in Loughborough, benefiting future generations of Muslims

Our goal by Allah’s grace is to build water wells where it is most needed in his name for continuous blessing with Allahs permission.

He will be dearly missed and always in our hearts.

May Allah forgive him for his sins, may Allah encompass him in his mercy, may He make his grave a garden from the gardens of paradise. May Allah make him of those who enter jannah without reckoning, may Allah reward him for his patience.
