Ernie’s Hometown Diner

As many of you know, my mother, Marjorie, and
stepfather, Ernie Ross, currently own Ernie’s
Hometown Diner in Loris, SC and were weeks
away from opening a second location. Due to
Covid-19 and the actions taking place to ensure
the health and safety of all, they had to close the
restaurant during this time. Although the
paperwork is completed for them to obtain the
stimulus funds for small businesses, it hasn’t been approved, as of yet, and if it does get approved, they won’t receive it in time to save the restaurant(s). Unfortunately, that may mean they’ll end up losing the restaurants entirely after years of dedication and extremely hard work. It would be heartbreaking to see them lose what they love and have worked so hard for. 

Those of you who have the pleasure of knowing my mom and Ernie, know that they are the most
selfless, caring people around. They’ve always
been there for their family, friends and
communities in Northern NY, as well as Loris, SC.
Ernie has cooked plenty of meals for local
fundraisers, events and charities, working hand in hand with the community and church to raise
funds for those in need. Most recently, Ernie made sure to offer Loris, SC students a free daily
breakfast.

We know everyone is going through a trying time
right now, but if you are in a position to donate,
please consider doing so. Any amount will help and will go towards keeping at least 1 restaurant
operating and get it back up and running, as soon
South Carolina allows everyone to reopen.
