My dad, if you know him, you love him. There's absolutely no doubt about it. He is truly one of the kindest, most generous people I've met in my life. If you're reading this now, I am sure you have a memory of a time he's helped you with something or a time when he put a smile on your face.

Now, it's our turn to help him.

On June 28, my dad was taken to the ER after having a few falls, left-sided weakness, and a few other symptoms. The doctors assumed it was radiculopathy and a pinched nerve, and he'd be on his way with some meds. Unfortunately, this isn't what happened.

His MRI showed a large brain tumor, and after a week of waiting in the local hospital, they finally got a bed for him in Charleston so that he could see a neurosurgeon.

Last Wednesday (a week ago), he had a craniotomy to remove as much of the mass as possible. We were hopeful it would be benign; however, pathology has shown that it is a Glioblastoma.

We're going on two weeks of him being in the hospital, with him being transferred to an acute rehab in Beaufort today to assist him with gaining some of the function he's lost back.

As if all of this isn't difficult enough, my parents moved to Beaufort, SC, less than a month ago. They're now miles and miles from family and friends who can help.

I flew to SC the day we got the news, and along with my siblings and the rest of our big family, we'll have lots of love to give to help him through this. One thing we could use help with now is funds to assist with his care. This will be a long, challenging, and very expensive road, and any help you could give would be very much appreciated.
