Meet Ernie Fritter Farrell
I was adopted January 2025 by my fur-ever Mom. I was stinky, missing a bunch of hair, extremely itchy and sad. My ears were so infected they were full of pus. I have allergies that were unmanaged creating all of these chronic symptoms. The rescue said to my Mom that "nobody was busting down doors to adopt me" because of it. So Mom brought me home.
I look and feel so much better now that I'm receiving allergy treatments!! But my ears are still a problem. Both of my ear drums are damaged from years of chronic infection. I have had my ears flushed, cleaned and medicated two times a day since my adoption. I even got sedated and flushed out several times, but by the next week my ears were full of pus again.
My Mom and the vet knew what I needed. Total Ear Canal Ablation (TECA) surgery in both ears. The board certified surgeon removes my ear canals, cleans the infection from my inner ear and sews it all back up again. I won't be able to hear, but those horrible nasty infections will be gone for good... and I don't hear all that well anyway.
I have to have one ear done at a time in case there are complications, so we're starting with the worse of the two. I have been a very good and brave boy - tolerating all of my treatments like a champ! Mom is sad, but she and the vet know that this is the right thing to do. Mom has helped me so much, ...now can you help me get my operation?
I would like to 'paws' and say thank you!
With sloppy kisses.
~ Ernie
