Ernie's Cancer Bills
I'm Rick, and a few months ago my father, Ernest, was diagnosed with stage 4 mantle cell cancer.
It's a cancer so brutal and deliberate that I have seen it swell over night from the size of a grape to the size of a golfball, and then from golfball to baseball. It's in his stomach; it's in his neck; it's in his eye now too.
Treatment after treatment has failed. The only hope we have left is an experimental car-t cell study and even that is a long shot. My father just recently turned 50 and at the rate things are going he might not make it to the end of the year.
As you can imagine his treatments have come with enormous medical bills, and while our insurance will cover a majority of it our family has no way of reaching the out of pocket $6,000 owed.
I don't want to lose my father, and worse still we stand to lose our home and worse on top of everything simply to cover the expenses. Any little bit that you could give to help us meet our medical expenses would mean the world to our family during our greatest hour of need. We're not accustomed to asking for help as a family but we've never had to risk losing the man who's kept the roof over our heads with his blood sweat and tears. Thank you.
