Our father Ernesto "Ernie" Trono Jopanda left us to be with his maker on May 1st, 2015. He was 73 years old, just a few weeks after his bday. His wife Lolita Villafranca Jopanda of 46 years was at his side.

It was a little over a year ago in March 2014, when he became ill with respiratory related issues leading him to be 100% ventilator and feeding tube dependent forcing him to live out of sub acute and long term acute centers, Emergency and ICU rooms.

He was the first to immigrate to the United States in 1975 from the Philippines leaving his wife and 2 young boys behind in pursuit for a successful career in engineering. A few years later, they reunited and added 3 more children to the family.

Ernie committed his life to giving... to his family, friends, colleagues, and the community. A very religious man, he was also known as "Brother Ernie" where he devoted his time to the Church and the Catholic community to promote healing and peace.

Ernie left behind a legacy of altruistic ideals and qualities of empathy and compassion as his work lives through the work of his children and grandchildren committed to community advocacy and serving the underpriveledged.

He leaves behind his 93 year old mother, 7 siblings, 9 nieces & nephews,  his wife and 5 children, and 9 grandchildren.

Although we can no longer grant our father's wish to retire in the Philippines, we are committed to laying him to rest in his home town besides his family.

All proceeds will go towards offsetting medical, transport, and memorial costs.

We hope you can join us in celebrating our father's life:
