Please Help Ernie and Eduardo

On Sunday June 9, 2019 two of our most invaluable and long time employees were involved in a horrible life changing accident. Many of you have had the pleasure and the opportunity to work with Ernie and Eduardo throughout the years. As a company we could not ask for two more hard working, dedicated or loyal employees than these two men. As dedicated as they were to their jobs.. to me ...and to my company they were also determined husbands and fathers driven to provide the best possible lives for their families. Due to their talents, artistry and expertise as skilled tradesmen Ernie and Eduardo were “reluctant entrepreneurs” who were regularly offered side projects often referred to them by family, friends and neighbors.

Unfortunately, this past weekend, one of those side projects ended in a tragic accident that catastrophically changed both of their lives. While working together on a project in San Juan Capistrano there was a sudden explosion. Ernie, who was in the same room as the explosion, was immediately fully engulfed in flames. Eduardo, who was working in the same room, was not initially affected by the explosion or the fire. As the house was being quickly over taken by the flames Eduardo had a direct and open path to the front door and safety.... instead, without hesitation, he ran into the fire and courageously pulled Ernie to safety. This fearless and heroic decision undoubtably saved Ernie’s life.

Regrettably, even with the quick and selfless actions of Eduardo, Ernies recovery will be both long and painful for himself and his family. Though Eduardo was not initially affected by the fire his noble actions that day have left him severely and critically injured. Both Ernie and Eduardo were burned over 80% of their bodies and will require multiple surgeries, skin graphs and physical rehabilitation. Ernie is currently in a medically induced coma and both of them are expected to remain in the hospital for at least 3-4 months before continuing on to an inpatient rehabilitation facility.

Both men have a slow, long and painful journey ahead. Undoubtably they will need strong, constant and enduring emotional support. Their wives and their children...their family and their friends will, without question, be the sentinels that provide this support, keep them strong and keep them fighting when they feel they have no strength left to fight. We are asking for your help and your prayers...to provide Ernie and Eduardo’s family with the financial peace and stability to remain by their sides as constant beacons throughout their extensive recovery.

As more information becomes available we will keep you updated on their progress and their recovery. We thank you all, so much, for your love and support of Ernie, Eduardo and their families.
