Hello, my name is Amber. I'm raising money to help with Ernests cancer treatments and medical bills. Even though we are only in our 30s, most of you know he was diagnosed with congestive heart failure a few years ago and has had a few hospitalizations because of it but recently he was also diagnosed with oral cancer. He met with surgeons at U of M and scheduled his surgery to remove part of his tongue as well as his lymph nodes and reconstruct it using some tissue from his arm. However when he came to get testing done the day before his surgery they found his heart was again only at 19% so he was admitted to U of M on March 6th. They had his heart up to 22% on the 9th and completed the surgery which left him with a temporary feeding tube, trach, wound vac and multiple drains. However because of his heart they decided to also put in a diffibulator. So they completed that surgery today. He is doing better and may get to come home on Friday now but still has a long road ahead of him. He will need speech therapy because of the surgery but also radiation and chemo. Anyone who knows Ernest knows he is always willing to help others and teaches our kids to do the same. He'd give u the shirt off his back if you needed it. So I want to give him one less thing to stress about. No one should have to worry about money while getting treatment to save their life.
