My heart hurts that I can’t open the doors to Ernesto’s this week. While I hope this situation is temporary, I know how stressful and uncertain this is for our staff.
All of our restaurant employees are now out of work. Some held not only jobs with us, but with other restaurants as well that cannot stay open. As of now there is no bailout plan for the industry.
They are the heart and soul of the restaurant. Without a staff there is no restaurant.
With that said, we wanted to attempt to provide something for themselves and their families in this tough moment. We are raising money from our new community of regular dining patrons, family, friends, neighbors, and anyone else who’d like to contribute to our staff’s depleted income. Please help us help them. Any amount does go a long way. While I’m uncertain what the future holds and how the government will respond, this gesture can provide some form of relief. All proceeds will go directly to the staff as I previously mentioned.
Our team of people is what brought my dream to life at Ernesto's. Having them know that they are being thought of and assisted even just a little, will mean the world to them and to me. This is for them as well as all other servers, bartenders, runners, cooks, prep cooks, and everyone else that makes the hospitality industry thrive.
We thank you for all the love and support during this scary time. Stay safe and we hope to see you soon at Ernesto’s when the doors can open again. We Will Rise.
