Hey! We are reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for your help.

This is Ernest. Our cute Akita. He was used for breeding; when his original owners didn't need him anymore, they dumped him. He was brought to a shelter, and due to having extreme anxiety, he grinded his teeth down on the glass of his enclosure. A wonderful woman, Kalin Eske, fostered him for a little while, until we happened upon him. We met him and fell in love with is sweet gentle soul immediately, and adopted him that same day. This was only a week ago, on May 5th.

Ernest is now facing a life-threatening condition and had to get emergency surgery this morning, 05/13 at 7:20am. The condition is called gastric dilatation-volvulus (commonly known as bloat). This condition twists the stomach, cutting off blood supply and causing extreme pain. Without this surgery, he would not have been able to make it.

He is by far, the best thing that has ever happened to us. If you've met him, you know of his loving nature.

The cost of this emergency surgery is extremely overwhelming, and we can't cover it alone. That's why we are turning to friends, and family, and anyone who's ever loved a dog. Every donation--big or small--will mean the world to us in this unprecedented time.
